Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Description:  Responsible for performing manual labor using a variety of hand and power tools and equipment required in tree trimming, grounds keeping, landscaping and maintenance in parks and cemeteries. Duties include preparation, inspection, and maintenance of Hickory Hills and Oakwood Cemetery. Responsible for cutting down, pruning, or trimming branches, leaves, and roots from trees to prevent damage and destruction or for aesthetic purposes. Maintains service records such as hours of equipment operation, tree maintenance performed, jobs completed, etc., and reports to supervisor identifying problem areas and corrective suggestions.

Ensures compliance and adherence to safety precautions and regulations required of co-workers and seasonal staff. Corrects potentially hazardous conditions for co-workers and citizens while executing assignments. Regularly checks equipment for proper performance and makes minor adjustments when called for. Reports all equipment maintenance requirements to supervisor. This is a full-time union position.
